At lunch one of the gentlemen from my class announced that the subject of his paper and presentation was going to overlap with my subject. I am a bit miffed since, with just nine people in the class, one would think that there should be no need to duplicate topics. If there were just a paper this probably would matter less (though there is still the issue that the libraries have only one copy of certain works).
My usual study spot in the gardens is being subjected to a rehearsal of The Tempest so I’ve moved to the less colorful but quieter lawn of Rose Lane. Not literally quieter, since the Sunday ringing (a quarter peal, perhaps?) at Magdalen Chapel is in full spate, but certainly a more joyful noise than the rather shrill Prospero and Miranda.
