The unheard of happened today! I arose early and took some fresh air and exercise before work (and still got to the office on time). Just a few pleasant minutes on the new bicycle spent determining that there are indeed bicycle paths in Greenwich Park despite the Rules and Regs posted at every gate which state that no cycling, rollerskating or skateboarding is permitted in the park. This will never become a regular occurrence but perhaps...perhaps!...it will become somewhat less mind-boggling.

The other end of the day followed a more predictable pattern with being kept at work too late to get to morris practice. This year will be the first in over a decade that on May Day I will neither a dancer nor observer be as the team is away to Hastings for the weekend and it is likely to be another year before I achieve the status of a kitted dancer. For which both working late and the pleasures of Longborough can be thanked. At least the fore has said that he believes that I do have the potential to be kitted and that he'd like to see me get there. It is just not happening any time soon.

A semi-structured dinner was the upside of getting off work too late for practice. The plans for a featured dish of pineapple tofu were foiled by the disappearance of the pineapple during the prep stage (Urp!) so creativity with the savory jellies produced a rowan-lavender-juniper tofu instead (the juniper won). Perhaps tomorrow the excess creativity can find an outlet somewhere other than in the seasoning and let me have a simpler dish...perhaps just plain rowan-lavender tofu.
