There is something liberating about working in somebody else's garden. Like packing for somebody else, when the person moving is stymied by trying to organize the contents of drawers of miscellaneous stuff, the friend helping can simply dump it all into a box (carefully, of course) without the complusion to do anything with it but get it packed. There is a similar detachment with a garden that's not yours -- which makes it much easier to plunge what needs doing. There’s also the added benefit that helping a friend with her garden, as I did today, gives me a perfectly reasonable excuse for not working on my own chores.

The wonderful progress in Kristi's garden today left me more invigorated than tired. I am hoping to keep that energy with me tomorrow and tackle some of my own much defered chores.
