After working through the predictable traffic and parking problems I was delighted to find that the limited size of the parking lot meant pleanty of beach for everyone, and that most people didn't bother hiking down to the end of the beach furthest from the lot. Later, I also found out that when the tide comes in it splits the beach in two.
