Dancing twice in a week! And vigorous dancing at that -- none of these 19th century quadrilles or lindy stuff that Sm has found.

Operating on the principle that anything not a waltz is a polka, Sm took grand advantage of the space between the stage and the audience at Bush Hall on Sunday to conduct our own Starry Plough Memorial Polka Meltdown. Truly glorious, but I mis-judged the end of the music and bowed us out about 20 seconds before the end of a seven+ minute set set. We even managed a wee bit of polka redowa for the edification of the audience (no air pivots, though!). Sm took to the French-style schottische even faster than to redowa so should the band bless us with another tour next year we will make greater effort to attend one of the official dances rather than the concert.

And tonight I got re-acquainted with my roots by dancing to Gordon Perry (with Rodney Miller providing melody).

Current reading: The Spider's Touch, Patricia Wynn
Current listening: The Bones of All Men, Phillip Pickett
