Home safely from Prague with one small adventure on the way home.

At the gate at the Prague airport there was a bus to take the passengers to the plane. The route to the plane started with a careful lap up and down both the A and B consourses of the airport followed by a quick chat with the driver of another bus, then headed south from the terminal past the maintenance sheds. Just about the time I started wondering if the bus was Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in disguise and was taxiing to the end of the runway to line up of takeoff, the driver pulls a U-turn. Back to the terminal, along the length of it, and up to the 'C' concorse still under construction at the north end of the terminal. Dashing across the tarmac to the nearest plane belonging to the correct airline, he hails a nearby ramp crewman who then climbs up into the airplane. Presumably to find out if it could be commandeered for a quick jaunt to Gatwick. No such luck, but the driver appears to have gotten fresh info of some sort as he heads to the other side of the concourse and over to a plane being fueled and loading meals and baggage. As I walk from bus to plane I have a vision of the first people up the airstairs getting turned back just after the empty bus leaves for the gate and another load of hapless passengers. It is a pleasent surprise to find us ushered aboard without further ado.

First day on the job for that driver, maybe. Or a really late night drinking. But I would just like to point out that a male driver asked for directions. Twice in the same day, even.
